Studio Blue offers an e-commerce purchase experience of a very very professional level photographer for under $1000. So far the early reaction on our new site launch this morning looks good. Zach's Comp Sci Class

My son Zachary has been taking his first "official" computer science class this year. They have been working with a number of 3D modeling tools and other graphics packages to create assets. He has also really used and mastered Apple's Garage Band Tool for creating and syncing audio tracks.


The latest programming they have been doing is in Adobe Flash (Action Script).

The other night at the local Apple Computer Store in Walnut Creek, his teacher, Mrs. MacDonald, had all of the students present their programs up on a big screen in front of all the parents. It was a really nice venue for the event and Apple gave the young programmers free T-shirts. It was really cool to geek out with the kids.



Zach authored and demonstrated several of his projects including an Animated Escalade car (like his mother's real one HA) and a game that he built called Duck Shoot.

My Kind of Bipartisanship

I love to see this story on the new so called Bipartisan Stimulus Package.

WASHINGTON – Financial institutions that received federal bailout money and paid large executive bonuses would be required to compensate taxpayers under the economic stimulus bill approved by the Senate.

The $838 billion measure includes an amendment penalizing companies that paid bonuses greater than $100,000 to executives after receiving government rescue funds last year. The amendment would require the companies to repay within four months any portion of the bonus above $100,000 or face an excise tax of 35 percent on the portion of the bonus above $100,000.

The Senate approved the stimulus bill 61-37 on Tuesday, setting up negotiations with the House, which passed a slightly different version last week.

Wordpress 2.7

I have upgraded morgansblog.com to Wordpress V2.7.  There is much to like about this new build of the tool I must admit.  I particularly like the way plugins can be uploaded directly without FTP access remotely using HTTP.  Also, the built in media manager is significantly improved.

I also needed to upgrade because my team at Bella Pictures is working hard on several new tools built on the latest version of Wordpress.  I couldn't be left in the dust:(

Many people ask me what Bella Pictures does. We are the largest national wedding photographer in the United States.  We just launched wedding videography as a product last fall and it has come out with great reviews.

NCAA College Rivalry Weekend

WSU just beat UW in a classic 2OT victory in the Apple Cup for 2008 on NCAA College Rivalry Weekend. It was a great win 16 to 13 to hand the Huskies a pathetic 0 and 11 record.

Granted neither team was that good this season, but it is always good to see a hard fought game. The Seattle PI published some interesting status after the game:

"Washington State won the Apple Cup for the fourth time in the last five years for the first time in the series' history.

The stunned Huskies remained the only winless team in the country and need an upset of California on Dec. 6 to avoid the school's first winless season since 1890."

Family Debt

Its been a while since I have posted to my blog.  I am thankful for the opportunity to do so.

Casual Fridays
